Crisis Management Consultants, Inc. is an association of professionals with nationally recognized expertise in disaster response, organizational violence, threat assessment, and law enforcement. CMC, Inc. provides a wide spectrum of coordinated legal, forensic psychiatric, forensic psychological, and disaster related services to corporate, government, and educational clients seeking to prevent and manage threats of violence as well as to help manage the aftermath of actual violent incidents, both man-made and natural.

What's New?

 

Beginning in 2010 CMC, Inc. will become solely a web-based company.  Contact should be made via email or telephone.  Services will be provided at the clients' location or at a site selected by CMC, Inc. consultants. 


In the Fall of 2009 the American Red Cross has requested Dr. Call to help develop a new ARC program designed to help servicemen and women re-integrate with their friends and families after returning from combat deployment.
In the Spring of 2009 Dr. Call was asked by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, the Oklahoma Department of Health, and the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps to be the Volunteer Coordinator of all Oklahoma MRC Disaster Mental Health Volunteers.
Dr. Call has been asked by the editors of Psychology Today to author a special blog, called Crisis Center, on the topic of crises and disasters and their impact on both society and individuals.  You can view these blogs here. 
In 2008, the Oklahoma Department of Health and the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services collaborated in the development of Human Services Disaster Response Teams (HSDRT) across the state.  This was a first ever project for Oklahoma.  CMC, Inc. was selected to help develop the organizational manual for these teams, to help organize the teams, and to provide the PFA and Pflash II instructional training.  For further information feel free to contact us at CMC, Inc.   
In November 2007 CRC Press published a new book--Forensic Psychology and Neuropsychology for Criminal and Civil Cases.  Dr. Call was both a Contributing Editor and a chapter author. His chapter is entitled Psychological Consultation in Hostage/Barricade Crisis Negotiation
Dr. Pfefferbaum, and others, have developed the Terrorism and Disaster Center at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.  The TDC is is a Category II Center of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN). The TDC focuses on achieving an effective, nationwide mental health response to the impact of terrorism and disasters on children, families, and communities. You can view the TDC website here
In May 2007 Dr. Call was a presenter at the first National Summit on Campus Security.  His topic was The Psychology of Rage: Assessing the Risk of Violence.  One of the sponsors of this conference was the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism.  This institute was developed as a result of the Oklahoma City bombing.  The MIPT website has extensive databases and can be accessed here.
