John A. Call, Ph.D., J.D., ABPP

Dr. Call is a psychologist, an attorney, and a Diplomate in Forensic Psychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology and the American Board of Forensic Psychology. He interned in the United States Air Force, served in the Strategic Air Command, and is a member of the Society of Air Force Psychologists. Dr. Call is trained in crime scene reconstruction and trained in hostage negotiations by the FBI. Dr. Call consults on threat assessment, employment issues, and/or post-trauma intervention with numerous federal, state, law enforcement, and professional organizations, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Customs Service, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Air Force, and the Federal Aviation Administration. He has published on hostage negotiation and teaches law enforcement personnel and forensic scientists in the area of crime scene reconstruction, criminal behavior profiling, hostage negotiation, and crime witness and victim interviewing techniques. Dr. Call is a Fellow of the National College of Advocacy and is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the Association of Crime Scene Reconstruction. In April 1995 Dr. Call was nominated by the Governor of the State of Oklahoma and confirmed by the Oklahoma Senate as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. As such he has been instrumental in the design and implementation of America's first community mental health response to a major terrorist event.

G. Dwayne Fuselier, Ph.D.

Dr. Fuselier is a clinical psychologist and a retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent, based in Denver, Colorado. During his career with the FBI, Dr. Fuselier has been actively involved in teaching and research in the areas of crisis management and crisis (hostage) negotiation. As a Program Manager in the FBI's Special Operations and Research Unit (now the Crisis Management and Crisis Negotiation Units), he conducted research on, and responded to, most of the major hostage/barricade incidents handled by the FBI.

During the last 10 years of his career with the FBI, Dr. Fuselier has been assigned to the Denver Field Office as a Special Agent Supervisor. During this time, he has been responsible for supervision of investigations in the areas of White Collar Crime, Organized Crime/Drug Enforcement Task Force matters, and most recently, served as a Supervisor of FBI, Denver's Joint Terrorism Task Force. He has served as a consultant to law enforcement agencies and private industry throughout the world in matters involving bombings, arson, public corruption, threat assessment, school violence, as well as risk and vulnerability assessment. Dr. Fuselier has lectured and provided training regarding crisis management, crisis negotiation, school violence, and related topics throughout the United States and in many foreign countries.

During his FBI career, Dr. Fuselier was an on-scene supervisor at most of the major hostage/barricade incidents, including the Atlanta Prison Siege, Waco, the Montana Freemen Siege, and supervised FBI, Denver's investigative role in the Columbine High School Shootings. He has published in excess of 16 journal articles on various aspects of Crisis Negotiation, and is a contributing author to the Handbook of Military Psychology. He served as an officer and a clinical psychologist in the United States Air Force.

Michael J. Jenuwine, Ph.D., J.D.

Michael J. Jenuwine, Ph.D., J.D. is a forensic psychologist and an attorney from Chicago, Illinois. He holds a certificate in Child and Family Law from Loyola University of Chicago. He is a law professor at Notre Dame University School of Law. Dr. Jenuwine has conducted research in the areas of juvenile forensics, suicide risk assessment, child protection services, and the treatment of child and adolescent behavior disorders. Dr. Jenuwine's clinical experience includes inpatient and outpatient treatment of emotionally disturbed and violent adolescents as well as chronically mentally ill adults.

Betty Pfefferbaum, M.D., J.D.

Dr. Pfefferbaum is a psychiatrist, an attorney, and a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where she also holds the Paul and Ruth Jonas Chair. Dr. Pfefferbaum is Board Certified in General Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry, is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, a Specialty Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Dr. Pfefferbaum is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Pomona College and a graduate of the University of California School of Medicine. She is listed in The Best Doctors in America, Who's Who in American Law, and The Best Doctors in America: Central Region. Dr. Pfefferbaum is a nationally recognized expert in the area of trauma intervention and is a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law. As both a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine as well as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Dr. Pfefferbaum has played a key role in the development and implementation of Project Heartland, America's first community mental health response to a major terrorist event.

Thomas F. Salp

Mr. Salp is a Special Agent (Retired) with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for whom he worked for 25 years. Mr. Salp's extensive investigative experience and assignments included the investigation of violent crimes, white collar crimes, illegal drugs, organized crime, and counterintelligence matters. During the last 8 ½ years of his FBI career Mr. Salp was assigned to the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime (NVAVC) as a member of the elite criminal profiling unit. He was a program manager in the Criminal Investigative Analysis Program and is an expert in violent crime analysis, which is founded on behavioral based assessment and analysis. He was a consultant to law enforcement agencies throughout the world in cases involving homicide, sexual assault, infant and child abduction, bombings, arson, extortion, kidnapping, public corruption, product tampering, stalking, threat assessment, and workplace violence. Mr. Salp has lectured and provided training regarding criminal investigative analysis, workplace violence, and related topics throughout the United States and in many foreign countries. While at the NCAVC he participated in numerous major cases that included the Unabomber case, the Freeman case, and the Oklahoma City bombing. He participated in research concerning Child Molesters Who Abduct and Kill, and Infant Abductions, and was a contributing author for the "Crime Classification Manual", published in 1992. He was an officer in the United States Army in the Military Police branch.

William Shaw, Psy.D.

Dr. Shaw is a psychologist and Chairman of the Department of Behavioral Medicine at the Oklahoma City Clinic, one of the largest outpatient health organizations in Oklahoma. Dr. Shaw is also on the clinical faculty of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, holding joint appointments in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Shaw has served as Chief Psychologist for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections as well as consulted with large church organizations, state, and federal mental health facilities. Dr. Shaw is a past president of the Oklahoma Psychological Association, a past Chairman of the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, and is currently the Oklahoma Representative to the American Psychological Association's Council of Representatives. Dr. Shaw is the recipient of the Distinguished Contributions to Public Service awarded by Division 18 of the American Psychological Association and the Outstanding Contributions to the Profession of Psychology awarded by the Oklahoma Psychological Association. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Examiners, the American Board of Forensic Medicine, and the International Academy of Counseling and Psychotherapy. Likewise, he is board certified in the treatment of alcoholism and other substances of abuse by the College of Professional Psychology of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Shaw has extensive experience in dealing with crisis situations in large institutions, such as correctional facilities, schools, hospitals, and outpatient facilities.
