Over the past several years Oklahoma has had more Presidentially declared disasters than any other state. With the recent ice storm leaving over 650,000 people without electricity Oklahoman's again are having to deal with disaster. This experience has prompted me to develop a series of posts regarding the provision of disaster psychological services. As a beginning I want to point our readers to two information resources: one is the Southwest Center for Public Health Preparedness and the other is the South Central Center for Public Health Preparedness. Each of these sites provide crucial checklists and toolkits related to disaster preparedness. Check them out. More to follow.
