Workplace murder is the leading killer of working females and the second leading killer of males. Besides homicide, verbal and physical assaults, threats, workplace sabotage, and stalking are also significant problems. The problem is especially acute in service sector industries where almost two-thirds of all nonfatal assaults occur. Targets of this violence include both company managers as well as front-line staff.

SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE SERVICES |
A primary service of CMC is the development of a comprehensive violence prevention, management, and response program for our corporate and government clients. CMC representatives assist our clients to establish, implement, and maintain a Workplace Violence Prevention Program. The elements of a CMC designed Workplace Violence Prevention Program include:
- The establishment of an in-house Crisis Management Team
- A workplace hazards control and prevention plan
- Training and education of employees, supervisors, and managers
- Method for incident reporting, investigation, follow-up, and evaluation
- The establishment of a legally defensible method of record-keeping
CMC design team members include, at a minimum, legal counsel, an expert in law enforcement, and a board certified forensic psychiatrist or forensic psychologist.
CMC provides its business and government clients consultative services during crisis periods of active threat. CMC consultants have expertise in managing the stalking of employees or executives, the termination and out-placement of potentially violent employees, performing fitness for duty evaluations in crisis situations, evaluating threat calls or letters for severity and violence potential, and negotiating with threatening employees or outsiders.
CMC threat of violence teams are based upon a multidisciplinary approach: law enforcement experts specializing in criminal behavior profiling and investigation, forensic psychiatrists and psychologists who have consulted with the Secret Service, FBI, DEA, and Customs, and legal counsel who have experience as prosecuting attorneys and in employment law.
